"Hospital of the Year" Award Competition
Georgia’s community hospitals provide the best in patient care and service to the community. Each year, the Georgia Alliance of Community Hospitals honors the best of the best through its awards program.
Member hospitals with outstanding achievements and important community initiatives are encouraged to submit a nomination for these awards. Winners will be announced at the annual fall conference, featured in the GACH “Year in Review” and on our website, and promoted to the media.
Awards Criteria
The “Hospital of the Year” award is intended to highlight the impact of member hospitals on individual patients, the health and wellness of Georgians, and the quality of life of their communities.
Hospital programs will be evaluated on their impact on one or more of these goals:
· Support direct patient care through improving access for indigent populations
· Support major economic development initiatives
· Support major quality-of-life initiatives
· Demonstrate support from the local community
· Provide extraordinary community benefits
· Enhance or expand critical health care services to the hospital’s community or service area
Hospitals must submit a letter of nomination (maximum of two pages) and no more than five supporting documents – newspaper articles, brochures, videos, posters and commendations. As appropriate, testimonials or endorsement statements from individuals in a position to assess the benefit of a hospital’s program should be included and will be considered. These include patients, local civic leaders, newspaper clips and other documentation.
Eligibility and Admissions
Nominations must be submitted by September 1, 2011 to be considered.
Additionally, award honorees must be a current member of the Alliance with dues paid in full; have 501 (c) (3) or equivalent tax status; and not have won in the previous two years.
